Your Name, Drawn First

Before any gold is cut, our design team draws your name in our lettering. Spacing, balance and the way each letter joins the next are all adjusted by eye, because a name with 4 letters needs different treatment to one with 10 (our maximum).

You'll then receive a digital design preview to approve. This is the one part of the timeline you control: the sooner you reply, the sooner your design goes to the bench.

Cut, Set and Polished by Hand

Once approved, your name is cut from solid gold in the 9ct, 14ct or 18ct and the yellow, white or rose you chose. Then the slow part: natural diamonds are set into every letter, one at a time, before the piece is polished so the edges feel smooth against your skin.

None of this can be rushed without it showing. A stone set in a hurry is a stone that works loose in a year.

For Christmas, that means ordering in early November. For a birthday or anniversary, put a reminder in your phone six weeks out and thank yourself later. Leaving it to the week before is how people end up giving a card that says "it's on its way".

Check the Spelling Twice

Once an order is placed, you have 5 hours to cancel or change it. After that your necklace is already being made for you, and because it carries a name, it can't be resold.

So before you pay: check the spelling (especially names with more than one version, like Isobel and Isabel), choose your metal carefully, and decide on the font. 18ct is the richest colour, 9ct the most hard-wearing, 14ct sits neatly between the two.
